Ingredients List

  • 1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken breast or thighs, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
  • 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 medium carrot, julienned or thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup snow peas, trimmed
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Cooked rice or noodles, for serving
  • Sesame seeds and sliced green onions, for garnish (optional)

Guidelines

Marinate the Chicken: In a bowl, combine the sliced chicken with soy sauce and cornstarch. Stir well to ensure the chicken is evenly coated, then set aside to marinate for 10-15 minutes.

Prepare the Sauce: In a separate small bowl, whisk together honey, hoisin sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger until smooth. Set aside.

Stir-Fry the Chicken: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken in a single layer, letting it cook undisturbed for 2-3 minutes until browned and slightly crispy on one side. Flip the chicken and cook for another 2-3 minutes, ensuring it is fully cooked. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside.

Cook the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Toss in the sliced bell pepper, broccoli florets, julienned carrots, and snow peas. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, cooking until the vegetables are crisp-tender.

Combine Chicken and Vegetables: Add the cooked chicken back into the skillet with the vegetables. Pour the prepared honey garlic sauce over the chicken and vegetables, stirring well to ensure everything is evenly coated. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly and coat the chicken and vegetables.

Serve: Serve the Honey Garlic Chicken Stir Fry hot over a bed of cooked rice or noodles. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions for extra flavor and presentation. Enjoy this delicious, flavorful dish!
