Welcome to my one year celebration of On The Home Front! For the past year I have been posting four times a week on various topics relating to prudent living on the home front. Tuesdays I share a frugal tip. To start the celebration off I will be giving away a set of three books to help you live more frugally and manage your money well.

The first book is The Money Saving Mom’s Budget: Slash Your Spending, Pay Down Your Debt, Streamline Your Life, and Save Thousands a Year. Crystal Paine, the author is a wife and homeschooling mom to three young children who has been writing on topics related to frugality for the last five years and living a frugal, simple and debt-free life since she was born. Her blog, MoneySavingMom.com, is one of the top personal finance blogs on the web averaging over four million pageviews per month.

The second book is The Complete Tightwad Gazette by Amy Dacyczyn. In a newsletter published from May 1990 to December 1996 as well as in three enormously successful books, Amy Dacyczyn established herself as the expert of economy. Now The Complete Tightwad Gazette brings together all of her best ideas and thriftiest thinking into one volume, along with new articles never published before in book format. Dacyczyn describes this collection as “the book I wish I’d had when I began my adult life.” Packed with humor, creativity, and insight, The Complete Tightwad Gazette includes hundreds of tips and topics, such as: travel for tightwads, cheap breakfast cereals and many more.

The third book is The Total Money Makeover: A Proven Plan for Financial Fitness, by Dave Ramsey. The success stories speak for themselves in this book from money maestro Dave Ramsey. Instead of promising the normal dose of quick fixes, Ramsey offers a bold, no-nonsense approach to money matters, providing not only the how-to but also a grounded and uplifting hope for getting out of debt and achieving total financial health.
