On September 19th, 2011 I began my blogging adventure! Hard to believe it’s been 8 years! Quite a milestone and I think it calls for a blogging celebration giveaway! When I first started I had no idea what I was doing. Since then I have learned so much and met sos many people! The blogging community is such a wonderful group!
When I first started, my blog was called Prudent Living on the Home Front, perhaps you remember if you’ve been a faithful reader all these years? I was hired by a company that wanted me to write on prudent living on the home front, this included frugal tips, having a pantry, gardening and of course recipes.
Eventually I went out on my own but the focus remained pretty much the same only the name changed to Nancy On The Home Front. When I started blogging we were living on 57 acres in Vermont raising chickens and bees and growing a large garden each year. I tried to preserve as much as I could from our garden to stock my beautiful pantry.
Now we are living in Oregon on a very small lot and trying to figure out how we can continue to grow as much of our own food as possible. If we can’t grow it ourselves then I plan to support our local CSA.
Are you looking to increase your library? The winner of the Blogging Celebration Giveaway will receive the following Six (6) books (total value over $150.00):
150 Best Ever Cast Iron Skillet Recipes by Gooseberry Patch

My dream was always to have a much larger farm and raise sheep and chickens. We lived for almost twenty years in Vermont but never got around to raising sheep. I don’t think we’ll be getting into farming now but you never know what the future holds!
