Next week will be The Thankful HomeAcre Hop!

Get your posts ready for Thanksgiving, Autumn, Harvest, and Preserves! You are still welcome to share your homesteading, homemaking, and homeschooling posts.

The week of Thanksgiving we will take a break from the hop and we encourage you to take a break to give thanks and spend the day with your family and friends. prudent living

Our gardening season may be over but we’re still harvesting! Since our property is under “current use” we have to manage our forest. This involves having a forester come and make recommendations on what to do to keep the forest healthy. The property hasn’t had any learning done since the early 70’s and it was time! We’ve spent many hours walking the property with the forester as he made his recommendations. This week the project started. They are doing a wonderful job and the woods are going to be beautiful when they are finished. This type of project is not only good for the remaining trees but it’s also a benefit for the wildlife. Kind of exciting to hear the very large trees coming crashing down!tree harvest
